Calvin Moore is a a new member of the Black History of Manitoba Team. This year he volunteered at the incredibly moving Emancipation Day that was held in June. As well as bringing a group of students to the Black History night at the Winnipeg Jets game that took place in February.
He looks forward to participating in more events throughout the year. Currently, he is a teacher at College Miles Mac Collegiate and he has a vested interest in increasing the visibility and community voice for people of colour in a positive manner.
As a Black person who was raised in Manitoba, he believes it is part of his responsibility to give back to the community to help newcomers to our province. As well as maintaining our cultural roots and sharing our story. He hopes as we continue to work together, we can build our community and voice within the province.
