Celebrating Black History Month in Manitoba

February is a significant month when we commemorate the diverse achievements and invaluable contributions of the Black community in Canada and worldwide, encompassing fields such as science, arts, literature, politics, and more.

The 2026 theme, “Rooted in Legacy – Honouring a Century of Black History, 45 years strong in Manitoba” invites reflection on the enduring contributions, resilience, and excellence of Black communities, and the vital role Black history observances have played in shaping awareness, visibility, and social progress in Canada and beyond
